Don’t miss the guided tour inside the monumental public cave (Amati/Contradina) as you journey through a labyrinth, to discover ancient legends and exciting stories. Allow your imagination to take you back in time to the ancient religious rites and solemn processions inside this evocative atmosphere.
Gradually, you will be sure that you can smell the intoxicating scent of Sangiovese (the red wine of Romagna), aged and stored in ancient barrels. It’s an unforgettable experience!
Comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing are recommended as it is quite cool inside, just 13° C all year round.
Please note that the path within the archaeological area is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. However, access to the public cave is possible.
Dogs are generally allowed if they are small to medium in size and of calm temperament.

The tourist office will be closed on Sunday 13th September and there will be no guided tour during the afternoon.
,BOOKING TIMES and DURATION
- 45 minutes to visit the public monumental cave.
Booking required. A visit to our historic cellar requires advance booking. We recommend booking a few days in advance to allow us enough time to organise your experience at its best.
Languages available. Guided tours are generally conducted in Italian or English, depending on the requests we receive. To guarantee a live guide in English, please indicate your choice at the time of booking, ideally at least 2–3 days in advance. We will do our best to provide an English-speaking guide at the time you request; alternatively, we will suggest alternative time slots when we are able to accommodate your request.
You may also request a guide in German or French, but please note that we have fewer guides available for these languages, and we cannot guarantee this availability.Audio guides as an alternative. For those who book at the last minute, we also offer the option to download free audio files onto your smartphone, available in English, French, and German. Please note that, while listening to the audio, you will still need to follow the guide who is leading the tour in Italian.
This is an emergency solution for those who do not speak Italian and were unable to book with sufficient notice in English (or if no English-speaking guide is available on that day). In this case, we suggest you bring your own earphones or headphones with you. The advanced booking is still required, we kindly ask that you let us know in advance if you wish to use the audioguide file in order to provide it.A recommendation. If you understand English or Italian, we strongly recommend booking a few days ahead so we can arrange a dedicated live guide for you. A tour led by a real person is certainly a far more engaging and enriching experience than simply listening to a recorded audio track – the heart of our visit lies in the storytelling.
